Working closely with your doctor to treat sleep apnea and snoring, your dentist will speak to you with regards to the benefits of the oral appliance treatment.
After conducting a complete clinical evaluation, including an examination of your airway, tongue, teeth and jaw, your dentist sends physical models and impressions of your teeth to a dental lab, where your appliance is made.
When it’s ready, you’ll visit your dentist for a fitting, and he/she will adjust the appliance to ensure it’s as comfortable, and effective as possible. You’ll also be shown how to maintain and to clean the dental appliance. You may also be scheduled in for a sleep study to ensure your treatment is successful.
Your dentist will also schedule follow up visits to check all is well with your appliance, and to make adjustments to ensure the long-term success of your treatment.
